Juvederm Releases New Dermal Filler Product
The makers of Juvederm have released a unique new product that is quickly gaining popularity among plastic surgeons and patients alike. Juvederm Voluma XC is the first and only FDA-approved filler designed specifically for the cheek area. It replenishes lost skin volume in the cheeks, plumping and lifting areas that require cosmetic enhancement and structure.

What Voluma XC Corrects
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance that helps the skin maintain structure and volume. With age, it’s common for the body’s hyaluronic acid supply to deplete. This causes the face to lose volume, specifically in the mid-face or cheek area. The cheeks may start to look hollow and the cheekbones and chin may lose their definition.
Voluma XC is an injectable gel specially formulated to:
- Smooth and restore volume loss in the mid-face
- Correct sunken areas of the cheek
- Enhance the youthful contours of the chin
Voluma XC Treatment: What to Expect
Voluma XC is administered very similarly to other filler products, such as Restylane, Radiesse and Artefill. Treatment is performed in Dr. Ereso’s office, and takes an hour or less.
Because of its special formulation, Voluma XC does not require a skin pre-test. The injectable gel contains lidocaine for a more comfortable patient experience.
Dr. Ereso or our aesthetician will carefully inject small amounts of Voluma XC into the treatment area with a small cannula. They will be strategic in where they place the product and how much they use, depending on the degree of correction needed and the size of the treated area. Voluma XC may be injected into the apex, “apples” or hollows of the cheek.
There is no downtime after treatment and results appear almost instantly. It is important to avoid putting pressure on the treated area (this could cause the product to migrate). Voluma XC may cause temporary swelling, bruising, tenderness, firmness, redness or discoloration.
Dramatic, Long-Lasting Results
After Voluma XC treatment, the face will look naturally fuller and rounder, taking on a more youthful quality.
Amazingly, results are possible in just one treatment. And what’s more: the results have been shown to last up to two years. Over time, the body will absorb the hyaluronic acid. Repeat treatments are necessary to maintain the results.
