What Benefits Can Aerolase® Offer?
Aerolase® laser technology has become a trusted choice in both cosmetic and dermatologic settings for its ability to treat a wide range of skin concerns. Unlike traditional lasers, which often require extended downtime or skin-cooling systems, Aerolase® delivers 650-microsecond pulses of high-powered energy that minimize thermal damage while maintaining treatment efficacy.
The platform offers both ablative and non-ablative capabilities and is known for achieving an average 87% clearance rate across various conditions. By emitting precise, high-energy pulses of light into the skin and targeting specific chromophores – such as pigment particles, hemoglobin in blood vessels, or water in tissue – Aerolase® can address a variety of concerns while preserving the integrity of surrounding skin. This advanced method has earned it a reputation as a highly efficient solution for comprehensive skin rejuvenation and repair.
By stimulating collagen production deep within the dermis, Aerolase® can visibly improve skin tone, texture, and overall quality. It is commonly used to reduce the appearance or severity of:
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Active acne and acne scarring
- Pigmentation issues and sun damage
- Rosacea and facial redness
- Psoriasis
- Vascular lesions (including broken capillaries and visible veins)
- Pseudofolliculitis barbae (razor bumps)
- And more
One of Aerolase®’s standout features is its versatility across all Fitzpatrick skin types (I–VI). Patients with darker or more reactive skin, who may not be ideal candidates for other laser systems, often tolerate Aerolase® very well. Treatments are typically quick and well-suited for those with active lifestyles, often producing noticeable improvements with minimal to no downtime.
What Does the Aerolase® Treatment Entail?
Like all of our skin resurfacing options, Aerolase® laser therapy is performed in our office by Dr. Ereso’s Laser Nurse, Jackie. Most patients describe sensations of warmth or mild tingling rather than pain; as such, topical numbing agents are generally not needed.
Depending on the area treated and your concerns, sessions can last from about 20 minutes to an hour. For more comprehensive results, Jackie RN may recommend you combine your Aerolase® treatment with additional non-surgical options, such as injectables or a soothing HydraFacial®.
Multiple Sessions for Best Results
While some patients notice improvements after a single Aerolase® session, optimal results often develop gradually over several treatments. A typical schedule may include three to six sessions spaced a few weeks apart.
Does Aerolase® Cause Side Effects?
Side effects from Aerolase® treatments are typically mild and temporary. Some patients may experience light redness, mild swelling, or a sensation of warmth in the treated area, but these effects should resolve within a few hours to a couple of days. Furthermore, most patients can return to normal activities immediately following their Aerolase® session.
How Much Does Aerolase® Cost?
The cost of Aerolase® laser resurfacing can vary significantly based on your location, the provider’s expertise, the areas being treated, and the number of sessions recommended to achieve your goals. Most treatment plans involve multiple sessions, and estimates can vary by practice and geographic region.
During your consultation, we will go over a customized plan, including an accurate cost estimate based on your unique goals. Note that we also partner with CareCredit®, PatientFI and Alphaeon to give qualified applications the chance to finance their care through installments.
